In recent years, local governments across WA have shown increased interest in constructing a range of fun cycling facilities, ranging from cycle skills courses for new riders, to pump and jump tracks with a range of different surfaces for more adventurous riders.
Bike skills and learn to ride tracks are perfect for kids learning to ride, or for kids who want a “road” riding experience. Many of these tracks feature mini road signs and line markings that make them a great way for kids to learn the road rules in a safe and fun environment. Find one in your area
A pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden completely by riders “pumping” – generating momentum by up and down body movements, instead of pedalling or pushing. It was originally designed for the MTB and BMX scenes, and now, due to concrete constructions, are also used by skateboards, and accessible to wheelchairs, making it a fun way
to develop bike riding skills. Pump tracks now come in a variety of surfaces including dirt, asphalt and concrete. Find one in your area
